CROQUET

NEW BRIGHTON CLUB Mr H. Nettleton, representing the centre, opened the New Brighton Croquet Club’s season recently. The president (Mrs Moses) welcomed members and visitors. She congratulated members on their efforts to raise funds, and paid a special tribute to Mr Skinner, the green superintendent; Mrs C. Kershaw, the secretary, and the centre delegate. Sprays were presented to Mrs M. Moses, Mrs Kershaw, and Mrs H. Nettleton. CASHMERE CLUB The president (Mrs L. C. Kernahan) welcomed a large number of members and visitors at the opening of the Cashmere Croquet Club. Representatives of other cluds included Mrs H. Lake and Mr and Mrs W. H. Kirk. The weather was bad, and the function was held in the club’s pavilion. One of the foundation members of the club, Mrs F. C. Wade, declared the season open. Mrs R. Taylor made and presented sprays to Mrs L. C. Kernahan and Mrs Wade.
