METHODIST SYNOD NEXT WEEK

The annual district synod of the Methodist Church will be held next week at the Durham street church. The ministerial committee will meet on Tuesday morning to consider matters affecting the ministry of the church. The representative session, which consists of all ministers of the district, together with elected representatives of every circuit, will begin on Tuesday afternoon, continuing on Wednesday and Thursday. The chairman of the district, the Rev. W. T. Blight, will preside at all sessions. The secretary is the Rev. H. E. Harkness. In addition to the business sessions there will be two services open to the public—Holy Communion on Wednesday at 9 a.m. and the synod service on Wednesday evening, when the preacher will be the Rev. L. C. Horwood. Special music will be provided by the combined choirs of Sydenham, Addi.igton, and Riccarton circuits. The synod is expected to conclude on Thursday afternoon.
