MAGISTRATE’S COURT
FRIDAY (Before Mr Rex C. Abernethy, S.M.) REMANDED Leslie Paul Walsh, aged 47, a spray painter, was remanded to September 3, on a charge that on June 13 he indecently assaulted a girl aged 11. Bail was allowed at £lOO in his own recognisance with one surety of £lOO, providing he reports daily to the police. Detective G. A. Brewer said Walsh had been arrested that morning. He had no objection to bail. TRAFFIC OFFENCES In cases brought by the police, the following penalties were imposed on offenders against the traffic regulations: Driving without due care: Andrew Kiver Allison, 30s. Failing to give way to the right: Ernest William Lewington, £2; Wilbren Van Den Burg, £2; Reginald Harold Johnson, £2; Edward James Lloyd, £2; Sydney Charles Mawdsley, £2; Alexandras Soms, 30s; Gordon Harvey Dale, £l. No warrant of fitness: Kenneth Gifford Stewart, 10s; Harry Wade Walker, 10s. Overtaking on an intersection: Hermann Bakker, £3. Unlighted parked vehicle at night: Ronald Bruce Rutherford, 30s. Failing to give way to a pedestrian: Charles Godwin Woodward. £2 10s.
