SEVERE STORM IN ROME
ROME, August 27. A severe two-hour storm today flooded the centre of Rome and brought nearly 100 feet of the great wall surrounding the Vatican Citycrashing into the street. The storm halted thousands of buses and cars, cut telephone and electric light cables, and swamped many ground-floor homes and shops. Hundreds of cars in underground garages were covered with water.
