“REAL TROUBLES AHEAD”
MONTGOMERY’S VIEWS ON FUTURE
(Rec. 9 p.m.) OTTAWA, August 24. Field-Marshal Viscount Montgomery, Deputy Allied Commander in Europe, said today that he thought the world’s real troubles were in the future.

Saying that the world’s political leaders should reach agreement on global strategy, he added: “We fighting men cannot do anything unless we getpproper guidance from our political chiefs.”
Field-Marshal Montgomery was asked to appraise the present position of preparedness of the North Atlantic Treaty defence forces. He said: “Four years ago it would have been a walkover for anyone attacking us. Today, any attacker would not have it entirely his own way. We could make it very unpleasant for him.”
