K Force Comforts Appeal
The Comforts for Korea Committee will today make a public appeal for funds to support its valuable work of keeping up a regular supply of parcels to the New Zealanders serving in Korea. That this service is both useful and appreciated is made plain in letters from the men. K Force is well equipped and well supplied through official channels; and’ it is probable that most of the men fairly regularly receive from their families and friends the small luxuries in the way of food and clothing which do much to relieve the severities of life on active service. But there are always some who would be missed if it were not for the devotion of such voluntary patriotic organisations as the Comforts for Korea Committee. It is unlikely that an early armistice in Korea will permit the early return of the men of K Force. They will still have arduous and important work to do in a country where living conditions are hard and the rigours of climate are extreme. The need for comforts will therefore continue for some time, at least. New Zealanders, in their comfort and security at home, can be relied upon to see that the supply does not fail for want of their generous support.
