ROYAL LIFESAVING SOCIETY
SIX NEW ZEALANDERS IN HONOURS LIST (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 21. A prominent Auckland surf official, Mr Alan Gardner, has been made a life governor of the Royal Life-Sav-ing Society in London, the highest honour it can award. Six other New Zealanders appear in the latest honours list of the socity. They are Mr Albert Veart and Miss Muriel'Brown (Auckland), Miss E. Fleming (Dunedin), Mrs W. Piper (Christchurch), and Mr J. Hill (Wellington), recognition; and Mr J. Ball (Hamilton), certificate of thanks. Mr Gardner, *who also holds the society’s Distinguished Service Medal and Bronze Star, is chairman of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Surf Life-Saving Association and the Royal Life-Saving Society.
