WELLINGTON JUNIOR TOURNAMENT

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 21. The Wellington District Golf Association expects to receive entries from all over New Zealand for its provincial junior and boys’ open championships on the Heretaunga course on September 1,2, and 3. There are no New. Zealand junior championships, but the Wellington association, which has sponsored a tournament for two years, has been able to attract young players from most parts of the country. Last year there were entries from Auckland and Invercargill. The first year the tournament was decided entirely on medal play, but this season there will again be regular championship conditions—36-hole’ medal qualifying rounds and then match play to decide the winner. The main events are the junior title for all under 21, and the boys’ title for those under 17. There are nine events in all. ) • LINCOLN LADIES’ CLUB.—Flag match: Mrs D. Ross, 96, 28—6f1; Miss K. Henley, 98, 27—71; Mrs L. Smart. 104, 30—74. Semifinals of Hewton Cup: Mrs P. G. Stevens heat Mrs L. W. Gillett, 3 and 2; Mrs L. Smart won by default from Miss K. Henley. Semi-finals of Duncan Cup (C grade): Miss E. Lilburne beat Mrs W. C. Baird; Mrs A. W. Riddolls beat Mrs L. G. Copp. The following players qualified for the championship:—Mesdames A. Duncan. D.
