COUNTRY WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

FEDERATION MEETING THIS WEEK For the first time in the history of the Dominion Federation of Country Women’s Institutes, the annual general meeting will be held in Dunedin. This meeting, which will be officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr and Mrs L. M. Wright, will last from Wednesday morning, July 22, until Thursday afternoon, and ' will be attended by Dominion councillors and voluntary organisers from centres in all parts of New Zealand. Visitors may also attend, but only as observers and provided they have membership cards.

An executive meeting will be held before the general meeting. Members will meet tomorrow morning, and in the evening they will have a roundtable discussion with the liaison officers at the home of the vice-president and treasurer, Mrs J. W. Martin. The president (Mrs E. S. M. McNaughton) will preside and among Canterbury delegates will be Mrs Percy Topp (North Canterbury), Mrs M. Prebble (Canterbury). Miss E. le Lievre (Akaroa), and Mrs J. Rennie (Kaiapoi).
