PRICES TO RISE IN N.Z.

ID PER LB FOR LAMB, ID FOR MUTTON

COMMENT BY MASTER BUTCHERS

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 19. The president of the New Zealand Master Butchers’ Federation (Mr O. Dyer) said today that the price of lamb and mutton in New Zealand would be higher in the new season as a result of the increased prices just announced for New Zealand lamb and mutton in the United Kingdom. The increased prices will come into effect for the new season, beginning October

The buying of all local meat was based on the export schedule, said Mr Dyer. On the basis of the new prices to be paid by the United Kingdom, lamb in New Zealand would rise by approximately Id per lb and mutton by approximately Jd per lb in the new season.
