LORD ROWALLAN WILL NOT RUN IN CUP

Lord Rowallan been nominated for the Winter Cup, but he will not run in the big Riccarton mile event on August 1. There is nothing wrong with the brilliant Tiderace colt, but he is not far enough advanced in his preparation to be at his best within a fortnight. Lord Rowallan, trained at Kaiata by C. J. Walsh, is to be prepared for early spring racing. His Hokitika owner, Mrs E. Cuthbert, has refused big offers for him lately. Costello will do his future racing in Walsh’s colours. Costello was purchased earlier in the season by Mrs C. Neville, for whom he raced three times for one second.

Raced earlier by Mr W. S. Goosman, Costello will be brought back into work soon and will race at spring meetings.
