URBAN FIELD CADETS: Applications are invited from boys who are leaving school this year for Urban Field Cadetships in the undermentioned departments. Applicants should be not more than nineteen years of age and should have University Entrance or sitting this year, but those with School Certificate may be considered. STATE ADVANCES CORPORATION: Cadets will receive a complete training in theoretical building and urban valuation work, including a period of fulltime study leading to professional examination in architecture and Diploma in Urban Valuation, and practical work with architects and builders. When trained, cadets will occupy administrative positions connected with the planning and valuation of buildings, including a good deal of outside work.

VALUATION DEPT: Cadets will be trained to undertake the valuation of urban property. Training would include quantity surveying, practical experience in the supervision of building construction and a course of study at the Auckland University College. When trained, cadets will be employed on out-of-doors works and will have excellent prospects of promotion to administrative positions.
