LINOLEUM FOR SCHOOLS

Authority to import and distribute linoleum for use as a floor covering in schools has been given to the Education Department, according to a letter received by the Canterbury Education Board yesterday from the department.

The letter said the linoleum could mly be used for approved purposes. ;uch as for the floors of administration rooms, libraries, medical rooffix, and cookery rooms.

Supplies were relatively limited, and the demand was very heavy. When these demands were satisfied it might be possible to make linoleum available for classrooms, but at the present time this could not be done, the letter said.
