The Union Steam Ship Company, Ltd., advises that the annual survey and overhaul of the company’s interisland steamer expresses Rangatira and Hinemoa is impending, and that this will involve some modification of the normal time-table.
This year, there is difficulty in providing a relieving ship for the full period. It is planned to withdraw the Rangatira on arrival at Wellingtqp on Thursday, June 4, and from that date until Friday, June 19, the service will be maintained by the Hinemoa only, sailing from Wellington on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from Lyttelton on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On Saturday, June 20, the Matua will enter the service. She will sail on June 20 from Wellington. When the Rangatira's overhaul is completed, the Matua will relieve the Hfnemoa for her survey. During the survey period, usual sailing hours will be maintained, except in the case of the Matua, which will leave Wellington at 6.45 p.m. and Lyttelton on the arrival of the 7.10 p.m. train from Christchurch. The date of the resumption of the normal time-table will be announced later.
