A LIQUOR SELLING CASE

Sir,—ln a recent Court case as reported in your issue of Tuesday, May 19, 1953, the defending counsel made it clear that the defendant had engaged in illegal liquor trading after the disbanding of the Christchurch branch of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association. However, several people who have communicated with me were under the mistaken impression that the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association was in some way connected with these activities. Let me assure them and everyone else that the association was in no way connected with or derived any benefit, monetary or otherwise.—Yours, etc., W. E. McGAVICK. Ex-secretary, Christchurch Branch, 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association. May 22, 1953.
