Wives, mothers and sisters of the bandits, hedged into the corner of the Courtroom by a double row of armed Police, burst into a pandemonium of gr *e f as the sentences were read. T w° of the bandits were sentenced to life imprisonment, 15 of them to smaller sentences. w J re held responsible for the killing of more than 100 police and hundreds of other crimes. The band was broken up by Colonel Ugo Luca, a Carabinieri officer sent Government to Sicily with 2000 picked men. y ♦ h JJ n a l ear to hunt Giuliano K his death and to round up or kill his 50 followers.
