The Local Government Commission on 20th May, 1953, promulgated two Provisional Schemes, providing as follows: (1) That nine areas be Excluded from the County of Waimairi and included in the City of Christchurch. (2) (a) That five areas be excluded from the County of Heathcote and included in the City of Christchurch. (b) That the Estuary of the Avon and Heathcote rivers be included in the City of Christchurch. These areas are more specifically described in the Schedules to the Provisional Schemes, copies of which are lodged and may be inspected, together with a map delineating the areas, at the offices of the Christchurch City and Heathcote County Councils, Christchurch: the Waimairi County Council, Papanui; and the Local Government Commission, Wellington. In pursuance of Section 17 of the Local Government Commission Act. 1946, written objections to the Provisional Schemes addressed to the Secretary of the Commission, and stating the grounds thereof, must be lodged not later than June 24, 1953.
