FREEZING WORKERS’ RESOLUTION

A resolution adopted by the Canterbury Freezing Workers’ and Related Trades Union reads:— “That this union considers that the Stockton and other miners whose livelihood has been taken away as the result of Government policy and technological development in open-cast mining, and whose homes have greatly depreciated in value with the decline and closing of mines, should be compensated by the Government and shifted to other employment at the expense of the Government."
