BRITISH TROOPS HONOURED

AWARD FROM SOUTH KOREA (Rec. 7 p.m.) SEOUL, May 21. The South Korean President (Dr. Syngman Rhee) today presented a Korean national flag to the Ist British Commonwealth Division “somewhere in Korea.’’ He thanked the division and the nations it represents for their gallantry. President Rhee and the Bth Army Commander (Lieutenant-General Maxwell Taylor) inspected a guard of honour drawn from the nations represented in the division—Australia, Britain, Canada, India and New Zealand.

The Commonwealth Divisional Commander (Major-General M. A. R. West) thanked President Rhee for the gift.

Theft From Eileen Joyce.—A sailor stationed at the Chatham base was tonight charged with stealing £4OO worth of jewellery from the London flat of Eileen Joyce, the Australian pianist.— I/mdon, May 20.
