AUCKLAND SUPPORT FOR FEDERATION (New Zealand Press Association)

AUCKLAND, May 14. . Members of executive committees of unions affiliated to the Federation of Labour, at a meeting tonight convened by the Auckland District Council to discuss wages and conditions and to define a policy in any action to be taken for improvement, carried the following resolution:— “That this meeting pledges its support to the national executive in its efforts to have the stabilisation regulations amended in line with the policy of the Federation of Labour. Further, if it becomes necessary in accordance with the decision of the last annual conference to convene a special conference, then this meeting recommends through the Auckland District Council that affiliations support a proposal for stop-work meetings of protest throughout New Zealand where district councils or trade union committees operate.”
