MUSICAL PARTY

The first of a series of three musical parties arranged as part of the Canterbury Women’s Club programme for the winter months; was held yesterday when a large gathering of members enjoyed the entertainment arranged for them by Mrs J. W. Palk. Songs were sung by Miss Margaret Whitfield. Miss Lorna Anderson, Mrs Iris Greenway, and Mrs June McWillfam, Mrs A. M. Evans gave two recitations, and Miss Joyce Barrell played two piano solos and played the accompaniments for all the singers. Mrs C. E. Boon < vice-president of the club) expressed appreciation of the high standard of the programme and thanked Mrs Palk and her artists.
