The weather forecast for Canterbury, Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue, is:— Situation: pressure is high over the north-west Tasman Sea and lowv to the south-east of New Zealand. Forecast: south-west winds, fresh in coastal areas, light to moderate inland; a few scattered showers, but mainly fair and cool. Outlook: fair. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Fresh south-west winds; variable ■kies and passing showers; eooL Outlook: showers. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was showery, with a light to fresh south-west wind. The maximum temperature was 52.4 degrees. At midnight the sky was cioudv, and there was no wind. The temperature was 43.6 degrees. The barometer, at 29.622 in (1003.1 millibars), was steady.
