R.N.Z.A.F. ENTRY IN AIR RACE
HASTINGS ARRIVES IN BRITAIN LONDON, April 8. A Hastings aircraft of the No. 4 (Transport) Squadron R.N.Z.A.F., captained by Flight Lieutenant C. L. Siegert, D.F.C., arrived at Lyneham, Wiltshire, yesterday, after being delayed at the Luqa airport, Malta, with engine trouble. The aircraft will leave Lyneham on April 15 on the return flight to New Zealand, but instead of flying via Singapore, Darwin and Brisbane, it will go via Cocos Island, Perth, and Melbourne, to gain experience in meteorological, refuelling, and reoiling facilities with a view to the possibility of following this route during the London to Christchurch air race in October.
