CHILD’S SUDDEN DEATH

A five-year-old girl died in the outpatients’ department at the Christchurch Public Hospital shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday. She was Kay Yvonne Robb, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. J. N. Robb, of 234 Milton street, Sydenham. The child complained of being ill about 6.30 p.m. on Wednesday and was put to bed. When her mother went into her later she found the girl unconscious. A doctor was called and the child was removed to hospital. An inquest was opened yesterday before the Coroner (Mr E. B. E. Taylor), and adjourned sine die. A postmortem examination was ordered.
