DOG SHOW

CANTERBURY KENNEL CLUB The annual mid-year show of the Canterbury Kennel Chib was held at the Show Ground* yesterday. The judges were Mrs M. L. Storey (non-sporting, toy, and terrier breeds) and Mr R. F. Loney (sporting breeds). Mrs Storey, who recently returned from a tour of Britain, where she attended many of the larger dog shows as a visitor and also a judge, said that the exhibits in general cotnf fared favourably with..those she had seen n Britain, but better handling of them in the ring was needed. ' The best dog or bitch in the show was Mrs G. Mansfield's cocker spaniel Marcel Marksman (Aust.). The runner-up was Mrs R. Hamilton's Pomeranian ch Angora Red Flare (Aust.). Marcel Marksman was also the best sporting dog, the best sporting puppy, the best puppy all breeds, and winner of the Junior Stakes. Results were:— Junior Stakes (all breeds).—Mrs G.
