DELIVERIES OF FERTILISER
FARMERS ADVISED TO SPACE ORDERS (Nnw Zealana Press Association) INVERCARGILL, May 11. Farmers would assist the manufacturers, the railways, and themselves considerably if they would spread their deliveries of fertiliser over a longer period, said the Prime Ministet (Mr Holland) on his arrival in Invercargill this afternoon. For many years, particularly in the North Island, there had been great difficulty in delivering the quantities of fertiliser required by the farmer, Mr Holland said. In many cases, the difficulty had been caused by all the farmers ordering their requirements for delivery at the same time, with the result that the railways were often unable to handle the large quantities required in so short a time. At present the manufacturers were able to executive orders promptly, Mr Holland said. He advised farmers, in their own interests, to order their requirements now, when delivery could be given promptly, instead of waiting until the spring, when everyone might require delivery at the same time.
