INJURED IN FALL FROM HORSE

MAN DIES IN GREY HOSPITAL (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, May 11. Andrew Frank Clark, aged 71, married, a farmer of Wataroa, South Westland, died in the Grey Hospital early this morning after being admitted last Monday with severe head injuries and fractures of both arms. He received his injuries when he was thrown from his horse while droving cattle from his farm to the highway pear Wataroa. An inquest wag opened at Greymouth to-day and adjourned after evidence of identification had been given. CHILD FRACTURES THIGH (New Zealand Press Association) . , NELSON, May 11. A child aged five, Esme Nisbett, of Riwaka, was admitted to the Nelson Hospital this evening. She was suffering from a fracture of a thigh. She was injured when she was knocked down at Riwaka by a car driven bv Mr Charles- G. Patterson, of Stoke. Her condition is satisfactory. MAN STRUCK BY MOTOR VAN Maitland Hunt, aged 41, a freezing worker of Ashburton, suffered a broken leg and hea,d injuries when he was struck by a motorrvan while standing beside his auto-cycle on the Main South road near the Ashburton racecourse on Friday night. He was admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital. Last evening his condition was reported to be satisfactory. PEDESTRIANS INJURED An elderly pedestrian suffered a broken leg and abrasions when he was knocked down by a motor-car at the corner of Salisbury and Colombo streets on Saturday evening. He is Robert McCartney, of 57 Salisbury street. Mr McCartney was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 6.45 p.m. His condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory. Another pedestrian suffered concussion when he was knocked down by a motor-car in Racecourse road on Saturday evening. He is John Mathew Olive, of 7 Buchanans road. Mr Olive was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 9.50 p.m. His condition last evening was satisfactory.
