W. Mein) and Devalue (P. Hill) followed over the same distance in 38 3-ssec. Finance Shows Zest Finance (W. Hanlin) showed zest for his task of six furlongs, which he covered in Imin 19 3-ssec, the last half mile in 53 2-ssec, and the final three furlongs in 40 3-ssec. Trench Fray (W. Hanlin) was just shading Dalray (R. Hanlin) on completing six furlongs in Imin 19 4-ssec. They ran the last half mile in 53 l-ssec, and the final three furlongs in 40sec. Trench Fray worked very keenly. Dalray does not show much of his ability in training. Robin Dayes (J. T. Anderson) ran a mile In Imin 50sec. He was joined for the last seven furlongs by Hermes (M. Prendevllle), and the pair ran the last half mile in 55 l-ssee and the final three furlongs In 40sec. Kind Wish (E. Blance) gave Foxy Girl (N. Eastwood) and Tyro (A. Eastwood) a start of three lengths from the half mile, but was first to finish. Kind Wish made up ground steadily to beat Foxy Girl narrowly in 51 l-ssec. Meriden (G. G. Hampton) gave a fair display over four hurdles. The Sir Crusoe gelding had some experience as a hurdler in the North Island before he joined R. P. Register’s team. Royal Dollar (L McClure), Grand Sign (M. Prendevllle), and Laindon (E. G. Rosewarne) set out to jump four hurdles, Laindon starting behind the other two. Grand Sign stumbled and fell on landing over the third flight, and Royal Dollar completed the round clear of Laindon. which jumped smoothly. Royal Dollar also gave a fair display. Later, Grand Sign was remounted and jumped two hurdles.
