OCCUPATION OF ISLAND
HUNGARY REJECTS PROTEST BUDAPEST, December 28. Hungary to-day refuted the.protest lodged by Jugoslavia yesterday accusing Hungary of invasion of an island in the Mura river, which flows between the two countries. The Hungarian Note stated that the territory had been awarded to Hungary by an International Commission under the 1947 Paris Peace Treaty and had earlier been allotted to Hungary in 1920. The Note added that the occupation of the island by Hungarian armed forces was a normal measure of national defence..
