P- Bryson (Gtentunnd), off 26min 58sec, ?P’U h * Avon Amateur Cycling Club's Christchurch to Akaroa and return road race held during the week-end. The Journey to Akaroa was made on Saturday, and the riders returned to Christchurch on the second lap of the race yesterday. , Fastest time was recorded by H. Brook (Avon). On the outward journey Brook, who was off llmin, crossed the line flist and recorded the fastest time of 2 hours 58 minutes for the first leg. His performance was all the more creditable in that he crossed the line with both tyres flat and for a considerable part of the race had a broken toe clip. His time for the home journey was 2 hours 52 minutes, a total of 5 hours 48 minutes for the race. Several other riders were dogged by bad luck through punctures on the outJ r *™ journey.
