N.Z. ASSOCIATION ELECTS OFFICERS
Mr F. E. Boulton was re-elected president of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association at its annual meeting in Christchurch yesterday. Officers elected were:—patron, the Governor-General. Lord Freyberg; president. Mr F. E. Boulton; vice-presidents. Messrs J. D. Hassall and E. R. Coote; treasurer, Mr P. R. Smith; handicapper, Mr C. Atkinson; starters. Messrs A. J. Kingsland and E. R. Coote; representatives on national committee, Messrs J. D. Hassall, F. J. S. Adam; representatives on Olympic council, Messrs N. N. Oldershaw, A. Laurie. J. D. Hassall; representative on New Zealand Polo Board, Mr W. Dyson; secretary, Mr B. O'Neill.
WAIKATO TO HOLD 1952 CHAMPIONSHIPS
The senior national swimming championships for 1952 were awarded to the Waikato Centre at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Swimming Association in Christchurch yesterday. The pool at Hamilton was too shallow for diving events, but the centre offered as an alternative site the Matamata pool, 38 miles from Hamilton. The junior championships for that year will be held tn Wellington. The 1953 senior championships will be held in Southland, and Auckland, the only application, was granted the junior championships.
