HURRICANE HITS PRISON ISLAND

MEXICO CITY, September 14. A hurricane to-day lashed Mexico’s “Devil's Island” where 20,000 hardened criminals are imprisoned. The authorities of the prison colony on the Las Tres Marias Islands, some 125 miles south-west of Mazatlan. renorted heavy damage from the storm. Thev said that several persons had been injured. The Navy said that its Pacific fleet was speeding to the scene to evacuate the prisoners and the garrison if necessary.
