AUSTRALIAN TITLE TO J. E. ROBSON

J. E. Robson, the New Zealand champion, won the men’s singles and was a partner in the winning men's doubles and mixed doubles teams in the Australian badminton championships last evening. Robson took only 17 minutes to win the singles title from Cliff Cutt, of Victoria. Robson was in complete charge. His court coverage and deceptive dropshots baff'ed his opponent. Thrilling rallies marked the men’s doubles, in which Robson and B. Tonkin, of Victoria, eventually beat the titleholders in the third game. Results were:— Men's Singles.—Final: Robson beat Cutt. 15-3. 15-2.

Men’s Doubles—Final: Robson and Tonkin beat D. A. McCabe and A. G. McCabe (Victoria), 15-12. 7-15, 15-7. Mixed Doubles.—Final: Robson and Miss E. Peacock (Victoria) beat D. A. McCabe and Miss P. Grant (Victoria), 9-15, 15-10, 17-14.
