BRITISH VIEWS ON FIGHT
LONDON, September 14. Though Randolph Turpin showed disappointment at the decision of the referee, Mr Rubv Goldstein, to stop his title fight with “Sugar" Ray Robinson for the world middle-weight title, eight seconds before the end of the tenth round, most British sports writers agree that the correct decision was made. There appears to be some difference of opinion as to whether Turpin or Robinson had been leading on points until Robinson became desperate after his eye had been cut. At all events it seems agreed that at this moment Robinson proved himself a champion.
