LIQUOR SALES TO-DAY

SAME FACILITIES FOR ALL ELECTORS (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 31. "The Government's attention has been drawn to an anomaly in connexion with Maori and European voting, now that both elections take place on the same day,” said the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) to-day. “It is inconceivable that different conditions should apply to Maoris and Europeans on election day. “I have consulted with the leader of the Labour Party (Mr Nash), and it has been mutually agreed between us. on behalf of our two parties, that the same conditions should apply to Maori voters as to European voters. This means that it will be unlawful to supply any voter, either Maori or pakeha, with liquor after noon tomorrow.”
