Sir Carl Berendsen Opposes Changes (Rec. 11 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO. August 80. New Zealand would oppose any attempt to change the present form of the Japanese Peace Treaty, the New
Zealand Ambassador to the United States (Sir Carl Berendsen) said today. "I will give my lull co-operation to resist any attempt by any country to defeat or delay the subject of thia treaty or to confuse, disrupt or prolong the conference or turn it into a vehicle for propaganda. “I have the authority and the intention to sign this treaty in the terms as at present drafted,” Sir Carl Berendsen said.
