ADDITIONAL SHIPS CHARTERED

BACK-LOG OF CARGO

IN BRITAIN

(New Zealand Press Association) ... WELLINGTON, August 25. Sailings from the United Kingdom to New Zealand are back to normal, but the backlog of cargo waiting to be shipped from Britain has necessitated the New Zealand Conference Lines chartering additional shins,’’ said the general manager in New Zealand for the New Zealand Shipping Company (Mr F. W. Spite) today.

"From the New Zealand end, of course, the whole season of wool sales has been delayed by the strike and the end of the present season (September 20) will run into the beginning of the next,” he said. “With this in view, the whole problem now is getting our ships back into their right sailing order. “I have noted there Is a much better spirit abroad on the Auckland waterfront. In fact, the relations between the men on the waterfront and ourselves could not be better. This also applies to their general attitude to their work.”
