ACCIDENTS
MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED
A motor-cyclist suffered a fractured left leg and left wrist and shock when he was involved in a collision with a motorcar on the Main Akaroa highway about a mile past the Halswell School at an intersection at 5.20 p.m. yesterday. He was Albert George Murray, aged 20. of Tai Tapu, employed by the Land and Income Tax Department. The car was driven by Mr Hugh Barnett, 73 Mansfield avenue. Mr Murray was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital. Last evening his condition was reported to be fair. MINER INJURED When he was struck by a fall of coal in the Strongman State coal mine at Nine Mile, a miner. Maxwell Mehrtens, aged 35, of 21 Ross street, Dunollie. broke three small bones in his back. He was admitted to the Grey Hospital. His condition yesterday was reported to be satisfactory.
