ANNUAL STREET APPEAL
Y.M.C.A. AND Y.W.C.A.
To-day the Y.M.C.A. and Y.W.C.A. will hold their annual combined street day appeal for general funds and more particularly for work among the younger boys and girls of the associations. The Y.M.C.A. which has been active for 73 years, has more than 500 junior members and lhe Y.W.C.A.. which has been active for 60 years, has also a large junior membership. Both associations. in addition to their ordinary programmes such as physical training, education, and other features for the all-round develooment of boys and girls, also organise camps and outings during the Christmas holidays. In this way they cooperate with Government departments and other organisations.
The public are aware of the objects of the associations, but probably do not recognise the scope of the work undertaken. The work of the associations depends on public support, special efforts, and members’ fees.
