DISTRIBUTION AMONG MUSEUMS

The council of the Art Galleries and Museums’ Association to-day approved recommendations for the distribution of the Oldman collection of Pacific artifacts (for which the Government last year paid £44,000). The recommendations, which will be forwarded tc the Internal Affairs Department. provide for the collection to be divided into 13 sections. The Dominion Museum will have first nreference in the selection of Maori material, -ind the duplicates will be divided amcnp the nrincinal museums in Auckland. Christchurch, and Dunedin. Provision is made fnr specimens to be distributed to the smaller museums.
