MEMBERSHIP OF FIRE BOARDS
UNION REPRESENTATION SUGGESTED (New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON. May 23. Representation for the New Zealand Fire Brigades’Employees’Federation on fire boards is to be sought by the Labour Party. The conference today endorsed this proposal together with another that the federation should have representation on any tribunal set up by the Government to investigate nutters concerning members of fire brigades. No action was: taken on a proposal that a representative of the freezing workers should be appointed to the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. There was some debate on this and the conference was assured that the matter was not being lost sight of.
