EXPEDITION TO FIORDLAND
FILM RECORD TO BE MADE A film record will be made of the New Zealand-American Fiordland expedition by cameramen of the National Film Unit. They will spend 10 days in the sounds filming the wont pf the expedition, and will then return to Wellington, where the film will be processed for exhibition. The party which went to Caswell from Dunedin on Sunday included Dr. W. R. B. Oliver, of the Dominion Museum, Dr. K. Wodzicki, Dr. D. A. Brown, and Mr V. D. Zotov, of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and members of the State Forest Service, who are to work in George Sound as well as the Caswell and Upper Stillwater region.
The Director of the Dominion Museum, Dr. R. A. Falla, is expected 'to visit the Upper Stillwater camp I about April 7 for a short time, and soon after that it is thought that the main scene of operations will be transferred to George Sound. Colone* John K. Howard is now operating from a base at the head of Lake Te Anau up the Glasenock river towards George Sound, where wapiti have been reported in fair numbers. The weather during last week was bad in the Sounds area, with snow down to a low level, and the operations of the expedition were hampered to a certain extent, though the cold spell would drive the wapiti and deer down to lower levels.
