CHRISTCHURCH CLUB The Christchurch Yacht Club sailed a series of class races during the week-end in a strong easterly wind over a windward and leeward course. Skippers found the conditions difficult. Three boats capsized and *four retired. Results:— R Class.—Challenge, C Papps (scr), 4.56.13, 1; Tronada, G. Cropp (scr) 5.4.24, 2. Z Class.—Scandal, G. Mander (scr), 4.47.55, 1; Teaser, L. Bamford (3min), 4.50.51, 2. I Class.—Myth. P. Mander (scr), 4.45.54, 1; Rival, K. Bamford (3min), 4.54.26, 2. CHARTERIS BAY CLUB A race was sailed for the C.Y.M.B.C. badge on Saturday. Details are:—Kismet, G. Anderson (2min), 3.40.30, 1: Manly, Dr. Mark Brown (scr), 3.44.45, 2: Tresta, •A. Bowater (smin), 3.47.25, 3. The starting time was 2.15 p.m. There was a light northerly breeze. MOUNT PLEASANT CLUB The Mount Pleasant Yacht Club held the final heats of the Hutchinson and Cowper trophies during the week-end in moderate to strong north-easterly winds. Results:— Third Heat, Hutchinson Cup.—Corjano (R. Lapworth), 11 per cent., 56.306 min, 1; Phantom (R. Cowper), 11 per cent., 56.423 min, 2; Nike (M. Willyams), 8 per cent., 56.568 min, 3; Flicka (J. Hewitt), 13 per cent., 57.103 min, 4. Cup points are: Enterprise (D. Milner) 59, Phantom 50, Flicka 48. Third Heat, Cowper Trophy.—L.X. (N. Jones), 12 per cent.. 50.59 min. 1; Enterprise (D. Milner), scr, 57.56 min, 2. Cup points are: L.X. 53, Enterprise 50, Scamper 32.
