WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS
Christchurch.— Mrs Templeton presided at the first meeting of 1949. Mrs A. Harper, provincial president, gave a talk on the aims and objects of the Women’s Division of the Federated Farmers. A collection was taken up to send two parcels to England. The competition winners were Mesdames Chapman. Wright. Hazleton, Pareush, Scott, and Cottom. Belfast.— The monthly meeting of the Belfast branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was presided over by Mrs J. Forrest. Arrangements were made for a visit to Waikuku Beach. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames J. Thompson and A. end J. Crawford. Competition results were:—large bloom, Mrs Murfitt 1, Mrs A. Crawford 2: small bloom. Mrs A. J. Smith 1. Mesdames A. Crawford and B. Farquhar 2 equal: cluster. Mrs Freeman 1. Mesdames Arps and Rudkin 2 equal; slice Christmas cake. Mrs Baynton 1. Mrs Arps 2: original bowl flowers. Mrs J. Halligan 1. Mrs Arps 2; frock made and worn by competitor, Mrs J. Thompson 1, Mrs Freeman 2.
