TIMARU CLUB’S 23-MILE RACE
From Our Own Reporter TIMARU, February 27. Twenty riders started in the 23-mile road race held over a course from Timaru to Pleasant Point and back by the Timaru Cycling Club on Saturday. A light easterly wind made the going difficult on the return journey. Placings were:—A. Cruickshanks (4J min), 57min 33sec. 1; J. Murphy (4jmin), 57min 33 l-ssec. 2; J. Peebles (sJmin). 58min 48 2-ssec, 3; F. Peterson (sJmin), 58min 49sec, 4. H. Stewart and J. Cremin. both off the scratch mark, had a hard fight for fastest time. Stewart recorded 55min 4sec and Cremin was one-fifth of a second slower. They were fifth and sixth respectively.
