TIMARU PUBLICITY SCHEME

A decision to publish a booklet of 48 pages entitled “Timaru City and South Canterbury” was made at a meeting of the Timaru Publicity Committee last evening. Eight pages of the btfok will be devoted to the history of the district. It will be October before the book is available. To finance the publication it is hoped to get an advance payment for the purchase of 5000 copies from business and other organisations, and to make between 2000 and 3000 copies available for the retail trade. Any financial surplus from the project will be used for publicity for the city and the district. Mr P. W. Young was appointed organising-secre-tary.
