MILITARY AUTHORITIES ORDER PURGE ( Rec. 7 p.m.) BERLIN, January 25. The three Western Powers have ordered a purge of political elements from the police force of the Western sectors of Berlin. An order issued by the British Commandant (Major-General G. K, Bourne), who is this month’s chairman of the Western Kommandatura layi it down that: (1) policemen shall not seek or hold office in any party; (2) policemen shall not canvass for suoport or opposition to any party; (3) policemen snail not actively participate a P art ? campaign; (4) policemen shall not be required to Delong to any party; (5) any offendei against these provisions is to be immediately dismissed and tried before a police disciplinary board.
