tSCUSB SV VHB PtPT, OP HEAIJII SUNBURNSunburn, like any burn, can be painful and serious. Build up your suntan slowly. For a safe tan commence with a short period of about ten minutes in the sun. Later it will be safe and advantageous gradually to lengthen the exposure to the sun’s rays. Ultra-violet rays from the sun manufacture Vitamin D in the skin. They tone up the skin and benefit the blood. While most suntan oils or creams help you tan safely by filtering out some of the ultra-violet rays, you may still get sunburn if you stay too long in direct sunlight. Over-exposure to the sun, especially when you are ex» orcising strenuously, may also lead to sunstroke or heat exhaustion. “HEALTH”, the Official Bulletin of the Department of Wealth Is available free to those who are interested in healthy living. If yon belong to any women’s organisation ask your secretary about it, if not, send your address to the Editor, Boa 5015, Wellington. _ 11.0
