ARMS AND TROOPS FOR ISRAEL
MR MCNEIL QUESTIONED IN COMMONS LONDON, Dec. 13. There was no doubt that arms and fighting men had been flowing to the Israeli forces from abroad, said the Minister of State (Mr Hector McNeil), answering a question in the House of Commons. He said that the Government had had reports of these movements from many quarters. “TTiis information does not make possible an authoritative numerical as- ( sessment of the increase in the i strength of the Jewish land and air: forces,” he said. “In the air force,! however, the increase has been sub- ; stantial.” Mr E. A. Legge-Bourke (Conservative) asked: “Is it not a fact that Skoda rifles and Yak fighters are being used in Palestine?’ Mr McNeil replied: “Our information leads us |o have no doubt that aircraft have been supplied from that factory.”
