THE WORLD’S ILLS
Sir,—As neither the writer of the editorial nor the chaplain of Christ’s College has any suggested remedy for the world’s ills, I venture to make one myself. Not until the true scientists take the helm will the present degeneration of the masses cease. In the “Life and Letters of Mandell Creighton, sometime Bishop of London” we read: “Religion means the knowledge of our destiny and the means of fulfilling it.’’ How many people have knowledge of their destiny to-day? And yet it is available. The Bible narrative is the story of man’s long journey up the evolutionary path. Gradually his consciousness awakens to his inherent powers, end he at last knows the meaning of “I am that I am,” etc. The .electron-microscope has revealed the facte that the wave-length of light limits visibility. Here is proof that matter—and so consciousness—can exist in an invisible form.—Yours, etc. T xrxsr. G ’ DAVIES. ’ January 10, 1948.
